The Children's Home’s Signature Event Returning Oct. 26

CATONSVILLE, Md. – The Children’s Home – a 501 (c) 3 organization committed to fostering statewide crisis intervention services for youths ages 13 to 21 – will present its signature fundraiser, FACES 2018, Friday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 10 p.m., at M&T Bank Stadium South East Club Level Lounge (1101 Russell St., Baltimore, MD 21230).

Approximately 250 guests are expected to attend this chic event featuring gourmet food, beer and wine, dancing to the sounds of a DJ, raffle drawings and interactive art tables. The highlight is bidding on photography and canvas artwork created by the at-risk children and youth living at The Children’s Home, along with other special items, in the silent and live auctions.

As part of a mentorship with Kimberly Hopkins (owner/creative, khopdesign LLC) and her husband, Michael Hopkins, along with Aaron Maybin (local activist and former NFL player who teaches art at The Children’s Home each week) and Lauren Erickson (office manager/ procurement office, JSR Associates, Inc.), FACES annually showcases the residents’ courage for positive change, along with their innate artistic talent.

This year’s theme, “My Story,” is a personal look into the lives of the youth, staff, volunteers and advocates who share positive effects of the programs and services of the Children’s Home. Guests can visit the FACES “MY STORY” Kiosk to hear real-life stories in the voices of at-risk youth, and also witness the reveal of compelling artwork created by acute-trauma residents staying at The Children’s Home.

FACES 2018 is intended to raise over $50,000 to help sustain quality programs and services for at-risk children, youth and their families. Admission is $125 per person.
