During the period July 29-Aug. 5, AVFD received 73 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

July 29: At 2:17 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported on Washington Boulevard at Southwestern Boulevard in Halethorpe. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. One seriously injured person was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

July 30: At 10:56 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported at Walmart, 3601 Washington Boulevard in Lansdowne. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was transported to a local hospital.

Aug. 1: At 6:10 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1200 block of Leeds Terrace in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to extinguish a basement fire.

Aug. 2: At 11:09 a.m., an injured subject was reported on the 5500 block of Willys Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Aug. 3: At 12:06 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported at Violetville Volunteer Fire Department, 4000 Benson Ave. Crews from the Violetville and Arbutus volunteer stations and Halethorpe career station responded. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a local hospital.
