College Knowledge Night and Future Fair is scheduled for Sept. 27; Nicklas named Art Educator of the Year

College Knowledge Night and Future Fair
will hold a College Knowledge Night and Future Fair at the school on Sept. 27.
From 6-7 p.m., freshman, sophomores and parents are invited to attend a seminar/question and answer session in the library presented by the LHS guidance department. It will focus on looking towards the future—how to make the right decisions and how to begin preparing for higher education or the military.

In the auditorium, juniors/seniors and parents are invited to attend a seminar/question and answer session presented by the guidance department that will focus on what to do now to prepare for the future.
For the Future Fair, colleges, universities, trade schools, and military recruiters from around Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York will line the halls of LHS with information and application materials.

Representatives will be available to talk with parents and students about their programs and student life.
Participants in the Future Fair include Associated Builders and Contractors, Stratford, Capitol College, Community College of Baltimore County, Electrical Careers, Frostburg State, ITT TECH, McDaniel College, Morgan State, Notre Dame, Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, U.S. Marine Corps, West Virginia University, York College, Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, and Coppin State.
Brandon Nicklas Named MAEA Art Educator of the Year
Brandon Nicklas was named the Baltimore County Public Schools Career Art Educator of the Year for 2012-2013 by the Maryland Art Education Association.
Nicklas'Â work for Lansdowne High School includes morning announcements, the Student Government Association and newspaper-as well as teaching televideo, multimedia, fundamentals of art, and photojournalism.
Nicklas will be presented with the Baltimore County Career Art Educator Award at an MAEA event at James H. Blake High School in Silver Spring on Oct. 19.
