Serious Beltway Crash Sends 3 To Hospitals: Baltimore Co. Fire

BREAKING: There are major delays associated with this crash Thursday on I-695, officials say.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Three people were hospitalized as the result of a crash on Interstate 695 in southwestern Baltimore County Thursday afternoon, officials said. The inner loop of the Baltimore beltway was closed in the area for hours, and there are major delays, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

By 4 p.m., officials said the inner loop had reopened but backups remained.

Crews were dispatched to I-695 between the I-95 and the Washington Boulevard exits at 1:09 p.m., Baltimore County fire officials said.

Two people were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, while a third person was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for treatment, authorities reported after 1:30 p.m.
