Local Legion Family Honors Vietnam Veterans

The Dewey Lowman American Legion Family is holding our 4th Salute to Vietnam Veterans on November 17, 2019, from 1-4 PM in the Dewey Lowman Post 109 Hall. This year's event features Maryland Secretary of Veterans Affairs George W Owings, III as guest speaker. The 299th Army Band Brass Line Quintet will be providing the music.

The American Legion Dewey Lowman Auxiliary Unit 109 is an approved partner with the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration Program. This program exists to thank and honor Vietnam Era Veterans, and their families, for the sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. Veterans who served from November 1st of 1955 through May 15th of 1974 are eligible to receive the special lapel pin pictured here.

A fried chicken luncheon is provided free to those veterans who have not already received the lapel pin along with one guest. Veterans who received the pin in the past, and community members may sign up to attend for a cost of $10.00 per person.
