135 Pets Find Forever Homes After Month-Long Push For Adoptions

The Humane Society of Harford County and Jones Bel Air Subaru teamed up last month to offer discounted adoptions for pets to find families.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ? More than 100 pets found their forever homes last month thanks to a partnership between the Humane Society of Harford County and Jones Bel Air Subaru.

As part of the Subaru Loves Pets national pledge, the HSHC offered $31 adoptions on all animals one year and older as a tie-in to Subaru?s 31 days of support during October. By the end of the month, 135 pets were placed in homes.

Jones Bel Air Subaru also sponsored HSHC?s affordable pet vaccine and microchip clinic on October 18 at the Fallston Volunteer Fire Company, providing care for 426 community pets.

?Jones Bel Air Subaru continues to be a tremendous partner in our mission to unite pets and people,? said Erin Long, marketing and development manager at HSHC. ?Their ongoing commitment through Subaru Loves Pets helps us not only find homes for animals in need but also support families and pets throughout our community.?

In addition to supporting adoptions and preventative care, Jones Bel Air Subaru hosted a ?Fill A Forester? supply drive at its showroom, collecting pet food, treats and other essential items for animals in need. The effort was bolstered by Best Friends Fur Ever Dog Daycare & Overnight Resort in Joppa, whose staff and customers filled a Subaru Forester to capacity with donations for HSHC. The Mill of Bel Air also contributed by donating several pallets of dog and cat food to help feed pets in the community.

?The Fill A Forester project helps keep our Pet Food Pantry open and stocked with supplies,? Long added. ?The pantry is a lifeline for many pet parents left struggling to feed their furry family members ? and it helps keep animals out of an overcrowded shelter system.?
