4th Of July Weather: Holiday Forecast For Bel Air

BEL AIR, MD — Before you head to the 4th of July parade or fireworks in Bel Air, be sure to pack a little extra sunscreen before you go.

Sunday's forecast in Bel Air calls for the weather to be 80 degrees and sunny.

As we approach the Fourth of July, your Independence Day festivities are no doubt confirmed. But the weather gods could always step in and ruin the best-laid plans with a trifecta of rain, storms and cloudy skies. So far, Bel Air looks as if it could avoid the worst of Mother Nature’s wrath.

Thursday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, some of which could produce heavy rain. High near 84 and low around 67 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between 0.50 and 0.75 inch. A flash flood watch is in effect from 2 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday.

Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79 and low around 59. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent, dropping to 30 percent at night.

Saturday: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 76 and low near 60. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Independence Day: Sunny, with a high near 80 and low around 63. The Bel Air Fourth of July Parade is set to kick off at 6 p.m. on Sunday, with a full roster of daytime festivities as well, from a bike rodeo to watermelon eating.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 87 and low around 68.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and low around 69.
