Abingdon Library Hosts Local Author Erika Robuck

The Abingdon library will host local author Erika Robuck on Sunday.

Growing up in historic Annapolis, Robuck was surrounded by history. Her first novel, Receive Me Falling, set in the Caribbean, focuseS on a woman exploring her family’s past. Unable to find an interested agent, Robuck self-published this novel and did her own promotion.

With her second novel, Hemingway’s Girls, Robuck attended a pitch-fest at a writer’s conference. After three short minutes of “selling” her story to six agents, in hopes of finding representation, she received six offers. Her third historical novel, Call Me Zelda, was published this past spring. 

Robuck now writes novels about writers — how they work, how their personal character shapes their “art," and how they use the people in their lives for their work. 

Robuck will appear at the Abingdon Library at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
