Air Quality Alert Issued For 12 Counties In MD Plus Baltimore
Certain people may want to avoid exercising outdoors Thursday, the National Weather Service advised.
Air quality in the Baltimore-Washington metro area may be unhealthy for certain people Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The agency posted a code orange air quality alert for several counties and Baltimore City.
Under "code orange," air pollution concentrations may be hazardous for children, people with asthma, those suffering from heart disease, people with lung disease and older adults.
To avoid the impacts of air pollution, people should avoid strenuous activity and steer clear of exercising outside, weather officials advise.

The air quality alert applies to the following: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties and Baltimore City.
