APG Testing Planned This Week: Firing, Flashes Possible
Daytime and nighttime testing may be heard in the community around Aberdeen Proving Ground.
ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD — Daytime and nighttime testing at Aberdeen Proving Ground this week may be noticeable to the surrounding community, officials from the military post advised.
Military weapons and watercraft may be visible at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), officials said.
Weapons may fire, and flashes of light are possible. Noise may be heard off the installation.

Staff at APG said they will monitor the noise and weather readings continuously.
"These operations are not hazardous to residents in our surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members," officials say.

Research engineers, scientists, technicians and administrators develop military weapons, electronics and equipment at the base.
The firing will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday and 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
