Bel Air Field Hockey Player Aims For Olympics

The star athlete who graduated from Patterson Mill High School is playing on the women's national field hockey team.

BEL AIR, MD — A field hockey player who honed her skills during four seasons at Patterson Mill High School and continued as a star in the sport at the University of Maryland is now setting her sights on the Olympics. Linnea Gonzales, 22, is a member of the United States field hockey team, which is a contender for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Gonzales joined the U.S. women's national team in January. She is on hiatus from her last semester of studies in criminology at the University of Maryland so that she can play full-time, because practices are five days a week in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she recently moved from Bel Air, according to PressBox.
