Bel Air Man Places Second In Baltimore Marathon
A 25-year-old Bel Air runner was among the winners at the Baltimore Running Festival.

BALTIMORE, MD — A Bel Air man placed second in the recent Baltimore marathon. For the majority of the race, he was in the lead and set the pace.
Tyler Muse, 25, finished the course in 2 hours and 35 minutes. That means his average time for a mile was 5 minutes and 57 seconds.
The course had Muse and more than 2,300 other marathon runners zigzagging north and south, east and west, around Baltimore, from the starting line near Camden Yards to the Maryland Zoo, Federal Hill, Fells Point, Lake Montebello, Johns Hopkins and the Inner Harbor.

Muse was the lead runner in the marathon for the first 20 miles, according to The Baltimore Sun, which reported that was when Jeffrey Redfern, 35, passed him. Redfern, an attorney in Washington, D.C., finished with a time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The Bel Air athlete was a cross-country and track runner at Bel Air High School. After graduation, he ran at Harford Community College and Wilmington University in Delaware.

Thousands participated in the Baltimore Running Festival's five races Saturday, which drew an estimated 20,000 spectators.
