Bel Air Store Helping Raise Money for Fallen Firefighter's Family

Several stores, including one in Bel Air, are donating a portion of their sales from Feb. 13-19 to the family of Mark Falkenhan, the volunteer firefighter who was killed in the line of duty on Jan. 19.

The Bel Air Five Below store is one of seven in the chain teaming up to help raise money for the family of the volunteer firefighter who was killed while battling a four-alarm apartment blaze in Hillendale last month.

The Bel Air location is participating along with other  stores in Golden Ring, Hunt Valley, Owings Mills, Arundel Mills and Columbia. They have all pledged to donate 10 percent of sales from Feb. 13–19 to the Baltimore County Fallen Firefighters Foundation fund set up to assist the family of Mark Falkenhan.

The 43-year-old Falkenhan, who lived in Middle River, died Jan. 19 while fighting an apartment fire. He left behind his wife, Gladys, and two sons, Christian, 14, and Garrett, 5.
