Bel Air Town Center to Welcome Two New Restaurants

Alchemy Elements and Stone's Cove Kitbar are coming to Bel Air this fall.

Two new restaurants are coming to Bel Air Town Center this fall.

First up, Alchemy Elements plans to open by Halloween, the owners informed the Harford County Liquor Control Board recently.

Sommelier Debi Bell-Matassa and Chef Michael Matassa, who live in Harford County and own Alchemy restaurant on 36th Street in Hampden, said they were excited about coming closer to home.

The couple used to own Fusion Grille in Fallston, which shuttered when one of them experienced health issues, according to Harford Style magazine. Alchemy Elements will brim with creativity, from the decor to dishes like Chef Matassa’s “black tea eggs” steeped in black tea for a smoky flavor, the magazine reported.

The restaurant is located where the Open Door Cafe used to be.

In addition to Alchemy, Stone’s Cove Kitbar plans to open at some point this fall on the other end of the shopping center.

Stone’s Cove has locations in Owings Mills and Herndon, Va.

The signature “Kitbar” setup promotes “kitchen-bar” dining, with the kitchen/bar at the center of the restaurant surrounded by tables, staffed by a bartender/chef.

The menu includes dishes like Creole shrimp and Cajun prime rib, plus salads, burgers and flatbreads, among other items. The business is undergoing renovations before opening.

Alchemy is at 528 Baltimore Pike. Stone’s Cove Kitbar is at 588 Baltimore Pike.
