Children in Bel Air will soon hit the sidewalks in search of candy on Halloween. Here are trick-or-treating hours, tips from police.
BEL AIR, MD — The town of Bel Air has announced the official 2019 trick-or-treat hours.
Trick or treating this year will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, according to officials. There is no rain date, according to Bel Air Police Chief Charles Moore, who told Patch that trick-or-treating will continue as planned.

- Ensure children travel in groups, and ask them to check in via phone periodically.
- Establish a route for kids before they go out, ensuring they only visit homes with lights on.
- Remind children not to cut through backyards or alleys.
- Review the principle of "stop, drop and roll" in the event clothing catches fire.
- Tell kids to call 911 if they have an emergency or get lost.
- Accompany young children.
- Inspect candy before trick-or-treaters dig in.

- Keep candles, leaves, hoses, toys and lawn ornaments out of the path.
