Harford Community College Celebrates GIS Day

Event Details

Harford Community College, Darlington Hall, Room 202

Harford Community College will celebrate GIS Day on November 19 from 9 AM to 1 PM in Darlington Hall, Room 202 on the College campus. There is no charge to attend, and the event is open to the public. Register here.

GIS Day is an annual international event that celebrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Geospatial Technology and showcases the impactful work of GIS professionals.

Whether you?re in business, science, art, healthcare, or tech, GIS plays a role in shaping your future. Discover how geospatial technology connects people, places, and data in ways that impact every career. During the day, there will be a panel session, speakers, and roundtables as well as games and raffle prizes. Stop by GIS Day and see how it all comes together.

More than 20 years ago, Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri, envisioned people collaborating and sharing how GIS affects everyone. That led to the establishment of GIS Day, which was first observed in 1999. The explosion of geospatial technology since then has expanded that idea into a global event that shows how geography and real-world applications of GIS are making a difference in business, government and society. It's a chance for organizations to share their accomplishments and inspire others to discover and use GIS.
