Community Rallies After Dad Dies Of Cancer, Mom Has Ruptured Aneurysm
A GoFundMe supports a Harford Co. family after the dad, a coach, died of cancer and the mom suffered a ruptured aneurysm at his memorial.

BEL AIR, MD ? The Harford County community has rallied around the family of a local youth sports coach who died Dec. 10 from pancreatic cancer. But during the first memorial held for Anthony "Guy" Peter Santoro, III, his wife, Holly, collapsed with a ruptured brain aneurysm and remains hospitalized.
"He was the nicest guy - always had a kind word as you were passing by. He was deeply involved in the community," Mike Woodring, a neighbor of the family, told Patch.
The couple's daughters, Alyssa and Carmen, are recent North Harford High graduates and currently attend Salisbury University and Coastal Carolina University, respectively, Woodring told Patch. Carmen is majoring in sustainability and coastal resilience. Santoro was a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and the University of Baltimore.

According to his obituary, Santoro was "a proud coach of the Forest Hill Heat, an alumnus of Calvert Hall and a lifelong Grateful Dead Fan." He also enjoyed playing sports, and the Santoros could be found sitting in the bleachers watching daughter Alyssa run track and cross country for Salisbury University, and Carmen play softball.
Family and friends have created a GoFundMe to help with the family's medical bills. As of Dec. 20, $59,302 had been raised toward the $75,000 goal.
