Dogs In Distress Saved By Harford First Responders

Emergency personnel saved one dog who went down the drain and another who got stuck in the mud in Harford County.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Two lucky dogs were rescued in recent weeks in Harford County. Both had gotten themselves stuck in precarious situations.

The Abingdon Fire Company reported that it saved a pooch from a sewer drain on Friday. According to firefighters, the dog had been chasing a cat while out for a walk when he fell down the drain into the sewer.

After the rescue, the fire company shared photos from the dog-owner reunion.

A woman who identified herself as the owner said that she had been away when the incident occurred with her 12-year-old dog, who has bad hips. The dog got away from the dog-sitter while out for a walk, she said.

"I can’t believe there’s a video," she wrote on the Facebook post from the Harford County Sheriff's Office. "I’m so overwhelmed with thankfulness."
