Two Weather Watches Issued Across Most Of Maryland
Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding are possible Thursday in parts of Maryland.
MARYLAND — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch and flash flood watch for parts of the Baltimore-Washington area Thursday. Officials posted the weather alerts across most of the state, except western Maryland.
Severe thunderstorms are possible from 2:45 to 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
It issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the following jurisdictions: Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Carroll, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Frederick, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince Georges, Queen Anne's, St. Mary's, Somerset, Talbot and Washington counties and Baltimore City until 9 p.m.

In parts of the state, authorities say 0.5 inch of rain is likely, while 2 to 4 inches of rain are possible if places experience multiple thunderstorms.
With heavy rain, water could accumulate quickly and rise rapidly, resulting in flash flooding. Streams, creeks and urban areas could be impacted.

A flash flood watch was issued for the following: Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Harford, Howard and Montgomery counties and Baltimore City. The flash flood watch is in effect from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 3.
Damaging wind gusts are also possible, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service.
