Funeral Set For Motorcyclist Killed In Bel Air Bypass Crash

Two visitations and a memorial service are planned to honor the life of the Forest Hill man who passed away.

Micheal Lynn Maples of Forest Hill died Aug. 11. He was 44.

Maples was born in Sevierville, Tennessee, and lived in Forest Hill, where he coached his son's baseball team and his daughter's softball team at the Forest Hill Rec Council, according to his obituary. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Harford County H.O.G.s. A professional in construction, he started his own business, Maples Homestead Renovation, one year ago, his obituary said.

Maples was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a light pole on the Bel Air Bypass north of Rock Spring Road, according to police.

He is survived by his wife Laurie Elizabeth (Brzowsky) Maples; daughters Michaela Lynn Maples of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Morgan Raylynne Maples of Forest Hill; sons Bryson Patrick Maples and Eli Alexander Maples of Forest Hill; siblings Christine Tate, Faye Maples, Jo Jo Maples, Crystal Hurst, Irene Maples, Cheryl Maples, Johnny Maples, Danny Maples and Scott Maples; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a network of extended family and friends in both Maryland and Tennessee, according to his obituary.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15, at Calvary Baptist Church, 206 Courtland Place, Bel Air, MD 21014.

A second visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, before the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16.

Maples will be laid to rest at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5598 Trumps Mills Road, Baltimore, MD 21206.
