Harford Closures, Delays: Winter Weather Advisory Extended

Slippery conditions have prompted schedule changes in Harford County Friday, Feb. 19.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Due to slippery conditions, the National Weather Service placed Harford County under a winter weather advisory until noon Friday. This extends the advisory that had been set to expire at 6 a.m.

From 5 a.m. to noon, forecasters said less than 0.5 inch snow and 0.1 inch ice may accumulate.

Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges could affect the morning commute, officials advise.

The winter weather advisory applies to Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Harford, Howard and Prince George's counties.

Harford County Public Schools will open buildings to staff at 10 a.m. Friday. Technology hubs are closed to students. First shift custodians are to report on time.

Harford County Government will open at 10 a.m. Friday due to weather conditions. Critical employees should report in accordance with their departments' policies.

The Harford Community College and TUNE campuses are opening at 10 a.m. Friday due to weather. No in-person classes will be held on campus before 10 a.m. Remote classes will continue, unless students are notified otherwise by their instructors.

Town of Bel Air offices are opening at 10 a.m. Friday with liberal leave in effect. Employees should report as necessary according to the rules and requirements within their departments.

The state of Maryland has declared liberal leave from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Emergency essential employees should report as scheduled.
