Harford Co. Firefighters Help Kingsville Fire Company After Crash

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ? Several Harford County fire companies have been helping out the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company after one of their fire engines and an emergency vehicle were hit by a car while on the scene of a medical emergency, causing two patients to become trapped in an ambulance, eight Kingsville emergency workers injured and two emergency vehicles damaged.

Immediately after the crash that happened Friday around 9 p.m. on I-95 just before the Harford County border, firefighters extricated the two patients trapped in the ambulance. Eight members of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company were taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with minor injuries. They were treated and released, officials said.

"We as members of Kingsville, while disappointed with the damage that has occurred to our equipment, are extremely grateful that no lives were lost and everyone is home safe. This could?ve very easily ended so much worse. We are grateful that our apparatus did its 'job' and protected our members from further injuries," the fire company stated on Facebook. "We urge everyone to slow down and move over when you see emergency apparatus on the roadway."

Pitching in and helping out the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company from Harford County were the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Co., Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and the Abingdon Fire Company.
