Harford County Delays, Closures For Thursday, February 11

Winter weather has prompted some schedule changes in Harford County Thursday.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Due to weather, several schedule changes have been reported in Harford County Thursday. A winter storm warning is in effect until 10 a.m. because of snow.

About 4 inches of snow fell countywide overnight, according to Harford County government officials, who reported before 7 a.m. that public works personnel had been out all night clearing roads and continued their efforts Thursday morning.

Bel Air town government offices will open at 10 a.m. Thursday. Liberal leave is in effect all day Thursday because of inclement weather conditions. Employees should report based on their departmental policies and road conditions in their areas.

Harford Community College and the TUNE Campus will open at 10 a.m., and no in-person classes will be held on campus before then. Remote classes continue, unless students receive instructions to the contrary.

Buildings and technology hubs operated by Harford County Public Schools are closed to staff Thursday, Feb. 11. Staff who can work virtually should do so, and essential personnel will receive instructions from their supervisors, the school system said in a statement. Virtual instruction will continue as scheduled.

Nearby, Cecil County Public Schools, which had allowed some students to return for in-person instruction, announced classes would be conducted completely virtually due to inclement weather Thursday.

Carroll County Public Schools, which had also returned to a hybrid model, is closed Thursday due to the weather, with school offices opening at noon and liberal leave in effect.

Liberal leave is in effect for employees of the state of Maryland.
