BEL AIR, MD — After an employee tested positive for the coronavirus, Looney's Pub in Bel Air is temporarily closing. It will be closed Sunday, Aug. 23, as the staff works with the Harford County Health Department to conduct contact tracing.

Here is the letter from Looney's, posted on its Facebook page Sunday:

Looney Bin Family,
We regret to inform you that we have unfortunately been the latest victim of COVID-19. One of our staff members has tested positive for the virus and learned so as the employee was initially tested in hopes of returning to Towson for college. While asymptomatic, we received the news yesterday evening and immediately began all necessary proceedings to ensure the safety of our employees, families, and customers.
Upon learning the news, we closed early & informed our entire staff of the situation. We will remain closed through today, Sunday 8/23 and will be working closely with the local health departments to help in any way possible.
The employee who tested positive was tested at Towson University on Thurs 8/20 and received their results Sat 8/22. As a precaution, all staff who worked Wednesday 8/19 through Friday 8/21 with the individual, will be tested before returning to work.
In addition to continuing our staff prescreening (to include but not limited to temperature checks, continued hand-washing, and monitoring), we will also have a thorough cleaning/disinfecting of our restaurant.
We thank you all for being there for us as a community and as a family. In accordance with CDC guidelines, we will continue to follow all regulations in order to keep our doors open and keep our Bel Air community a part of our Looney’s family.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message us.
