A Love Letter To Doug
This couple's love story dates back to their school days at North Bend Elementary.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Nicole Shields’ love letter to her husband, Doug:
Dear Doug, my one and only,
Our great love story started so long ago, and we didn't even know it! We met when we were seven years old at North Bend Elementary School in Mrs. McCallum's class. I'll never forget it: You were the cutest little boy, and I had a huge crush on you! We went all through school not really knowing much about each other, but I did know you were considered a "bad boy," which was so intriguing.

Over the years we only had short moments when we ran into each other, until the beautifully fateful day that you friend requested me on Facebook. Now, almost exactly 3 years later to the day (Feb. 26, 2015), I'm so much more in love with you than I was then! A short time later we were married at the Harford County Clerk’s Office, and the rest is history!
Doug you are my heart, the one I talk to about everything! This life wouldn't be as fun and eventful and happy without you! When you came back into my life, I learned what living really is about. I'm looking forward to buying our first house and having our first child. Thank you for making me a better person and showing me the best parts of life! To our future, my love!
