New Combination School Site's Land Purchase Finalized In Bel Air

Officials have finalized the land purchase for the future site of a combination school planned for Bel Air, officials shared.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ? Officials have finalized the purchase of a 45-acre site designated for a new school to be built in Bel Air.

Located at North Fountain Green Road, the property owned by Presbyterian Homes had been planned for use as a continuing care retirement community known as Carsins Run at Eva Mar. Harford County bought the land May 29 and transferred ownership to the public school system. The new school will be a combination elementary school and the new home of Harford Academy, which serves students with severe disabilities, according to school officials.

The new school site sits in Harford County?s priority funding area and is served by public water and sewer; therefore, the school project qualifies to receive state funding estimated at up to $50 million, officials shared.
