Patterson Mill Heads To State Basketball Semifinals

Two local teams are playing in the state basketball playoffs this week coordinated by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA). Both Patterson Mill and C. Milton Wright have played their way to the state basketball semifinals.

The Patterson Mill Huskies boys basketball team will take on Fairmont Heights Hornets in the class 1A state semifinals at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at the Xfinity Center on the University of Maryland College Park campus. The class 1A championship is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the same venue.

The C. Milton Wright girls basketball team fell to the Frederick Cadets in the class 3A semifinals on Thursday, March 8.

The Mustangs were defeated by the Cadets at the SECU Arena in Towson, 54-37. The Cadets will proceed to the state championship on Saturday, March 10, in the same location, where they will face off against Long Reach.
