Police: Abingdon Man Suspected in Glen Burnie Murder-Suicide

Anne Arundel County police identified three people who died in an apparent murder-suicide in Glen Burnie early Sunday, and one of the victims was a Baltimore firefighter.

According to police, Andrew Hoffman, 27, and Marie Hartman, 26—both of Glen Burnie—were shot inside Hoffman's residence. Police believe that Christopher Robinson, 37, of Abingdon was the shooter who then turned the gun on himself.

According to an Anne Arundel County police press release, Hoffman was a firefighter in Baltimore, and Robinson was an officer in the Baltimore Police Department. Investigators found Robinson had a relationship with Hartman and also knew Hoffman.

Anne Arundel County Police Chief Kevin Davis recognized Hoffman as a hero, particularly in an off-duty incident in July, where he returned a wandering toddler to his Linthicum home.

"Hoffman was a hero we saluted, not for his work as a fireman [and] paramedic, but for his humanism," Davis said. "Our entire community owes him a debt of gratitude. Our thoughts are also with the Hartman and Robinson."
