Tips Sought In Woman's Fatal Stabbing 37 Years Ago

Harford Co. sheriff's detectives ask for the public's help in finding the suspect(s) linked to the stabbing of a Dundalk woman 37 years ago.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD ? In 1988, Patricia Burns was found stabbed to death in a body of water in Edgewood. Now, 37 years later, detectives are asking for the public's help in solving the cold case.

Burns lived in the North Point Village in Dundalk at the time of her death. On July 6, 1988, around 6 p.m., the 25-year-old woman was found dead in water along Winter Run Road in Edgewood. Once she was pulled out of the water, officers discovered she had been stabbed to death, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives said there are no suspects. But information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward.

"If you have any information that could be used to investigate and bring her killer to justice, please call. Your tip could be the one that breaks open this case," the sheriff's office said.
