BEL AIR, MD — Harford County Executive Barry Glassman announced Thursday the appointment of a new policy director who will oversee state and federal legislative affairs. Lawrence A. Richardson Jr., the appointee, also will work with Harford residents on constituent matters, Glassman said.

Richardson will report to work on Monday, June 10. He brings to Harford County more than three decades of experience as a lobbyist, including 20 years with State Farm Insurance Companies, the largest provider of property/casualty insurance and financial services in Maryland, according to Glassman.

Before joining Glassman's administration, Richardson served as vice president of government affairs for the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

“I have worked closely with Larry over the years, including my service in the Maryland House of Delegates and the Maryland Senate,” Glassman said in the statement. “He is a Harford County resident, and he will be an effective advocate for the citizens of our county.”
