Visitation To Resume At Harford County Detention Center

People must schedule a visiting session in advance by calling the Harfor​d County Detention Center.

BEL AIR, MD — Visitation will resume at the Harford County Detention Center starting in November. The Harford County Sheriff's Office reports inmates will again be allowed to host visitors Nov. 4.

Each inmate will be allowed one visit each week, with up to two visitors at a time.

According to authorities, each housing unit will have a visiting day and time assigned.

People must schedule visitation one week in advance by calling the Harford County Detention Center at 410-638-3140 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Visitation had been halted at the detention center due to the coronavirus.

When visits are again allowed, the following will be in place to minimize the potential spread of the virus:

  • Temperatures will be checked. A temperature of at least 100 degrees precludes entry.
  • Visitors age 2 and up must wear masks.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available in the lobby.
  • Booths will be sanitized between visits.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office had stopped visitation in March after the coronavirus was reported in Maryland.
