108 New Coronavirus Cases, 2 Deaths Reported In Montgomery County
The new cases and deaths come as 21.5 percent of county residents have been fully vaccinated and almost 38 percent have gotten one dose.

BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County health officials announced 108 new positive cases of the coronavirus and two new COVID-19 deaths on Thursday at a time when just more than 22 percent of the county’s residents have been fully vaccinated.
The latest additions push the total number of confirmed cases and deaths in the county to 67,613. With the two additional deaths, 1,440 people have died in the county, which represents the highest county-wide death toll in the state, officials said.
Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million people — also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 79,453, according to the latest figures.

Across Maryland, there have been 421,823 cases, 8,224 confirmed deaths, 21 of which have been reported over the past 24 hours, health officials said. The death toll does not include 186 deaths which health officials say are “probable” in terms of being linked to the coronavirus. Of the 1,216 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 281 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As of Thursday, Maryland has administered 3,467,340 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 1,836,195 were first doses and 1,446,445 were second doses.

In Montgomery County, 398,686 residents (37.9 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 226,158 residents (21.5 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
