BETHESDA, MD — Before you head to your barbecue or festivities before nearby fireworks shows, be sure to pack a a little extra sunscreen before you go.
As we approach the holiday, your Independence Day festivities are no doubt confirmed. But, as most of us know, Mother Nature is fickle and could always step in and ruin the best-laid plans with a trifecta of rain, storms and cloudy skies.
So far, Bethesda looks as if it could avoid the worst of Mother Nature’s wrath, according to the most recent forecast for our area.

On Friday, there will be some showers in the morning. On Saturday, the high is 79 degrees and partly cloudy skies are expected. On Sunday, the partly cloudy skies will continue but the temperature could get a bit warmer, with a high of 84 degrees. On Monday it'll really heat up, with a high of 91 degrees, though the cloudy skies will stay.
