As we get ready to say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021, we march on hesitantly yet firmly believing that good will eventually prevail, and hope of a better world will be reclaimed

Naturally with the type of year we just had, we are tentative going into the unknown. Although 2021 seems more promising than 2020. However, we catch ourselves being carefully optimistic with a hand holding tightly to an inner hope afraid of letting it go.
We as humans have to carry on into the unknown. We’ll move on through strategic steps towards what we all collectively pray to achieve which is a healthier world with sound treatments for COVID-19.
Our life surely will be different in 2021. That impromptu feeling of I feel like doing something therefore I do it, is a thing of the past. Our life will be measured for the betterment of all. For one of the positives we can take from 2020 is that it united people together in their responsibility of doing the right thing and act in a conscionable manner which will lead us all to a good path. Families under one roof had to make their own meals, stick together during quarantine, talk and take care of each other. 2020 brought a sense of renewal to family life. Families are now playing chess, playing cards, doing art together. The little details of our mundane life mattered in 2020, and that is a positive we should never overlook. Making art, drawing, painting, discovering a new craft, learning a language, baking, cooking exotic dishes all became our new normal under COVID. People before COVID were thinking of the ME and the I. Yet, after COVID we started caring about our human lives collectively: worrying about our parents, our grandparents, our friends, our children, our neighbors, our mailman, our grocery employees, our teachers, our doctors, our nurses. We the whole world was stuck in the same boat, and we all felt the same. For the amount of care and empathy that we had seen this year should never be taken for granted. Yes, we did go through such a difficult dark year. Yet, we manage to rise above the darkness towards the light through our resilient human spirit that loves and cares for one another.
This year will go down in history as a bizarre Twilight zone kind of year. Nevertheless, the hope is here to stay for the upcoming year. The new undertakings of science and our strong human purpose will collectively rise above the challenges of 2020. We’ll therefore hopefully see a new year that seems promising considering the introduction of the vaccine and a path in the right direction thanks to the help of innovation and science.
Before we say adieu to 2020, here in the DMV on the local scene and during the holiday season uplift yourselves through the arts. A number of my paintings in Acrylic on canvas such as my famed snow mountains series are now on exhibit at the Holiday Art Show at Glen Echo Park’s galleries. For the upcoming Winter 2021, I will be teaching 2 online morning art classes. The classes are conducted online via Zoom due to COVID.
Fine art classes are a great way to get back into doing something creative or even introducing yourself to art altogether from basic drawing to skilled paintings. I aim to give this creative adventure to my art students and see them artistically grown within my art classes and through my teaching and expertise.
Here are the 2 classes info and registration link.
Classes are offered through the Yellow Barn Studio & Glen Echo Park.
