Another Flash Flood Watch Issued For Parts Of Montgomery: Aug. 13

Heavy rainfall across Maryland prompts the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Watch in Montgomery County.

BETHESDA, MD — A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for parts of Montgomery County as rain continues to soak the Baltimore-Washington region, according to the National Weather Service.

The alert is up for central and southeastern Montgomery County Thursday until midnight. Forecasters say heavy rainfall from thunderstorms may lead to flash flooding or a rapid rise in water level.

Thursday's Flash Flood Watch comes on the heels of flash flooding Wednesday night that led to water rescues in several parts of the state, including in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County.

"It wouldn't take much to cause flooding, given heavy rainfall across much of the area both yesterday and again this morning," the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion.

Cities that may be impacted include: Germantown, Damascus, Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg,Silver Spring, Lisbon, Columbia, Ellicott City, Jarrettsville, Aberdeen, Hagerstown, Frederick, Ballenger Creek, Eldersburg, Westminster, Reisterstown, Cockeysville, and Baltimore.
