Astronaut John Glenn's Custom Maryland Home Sells
The custom Bethesda house of the late astronaut and Senator John Glenn just sold, according to Realtor.com.

BETHESDA, MD — Someone now owns a piece of America's space history: The Bethesda house of the late astronaut and Sen. John Glenn, and his wife, Annie, has been sold for $1.32 million, according to Realtor.com. The house was listed for sale earlier this year for $1.575 million.
Glenn, who grew up in small-town Ohio and became a worldwide space hero and an icon of the audacious spirit that pushed man to thrust from Earth to explore the cosmos, died in December 2016 at age 95. Glenn, known to a generation as a U.S. Senator representing Ohio beginning in 1974, stepped onto the world stage in 1962, when he became the first American to orbit Earth. He was a fighter pilot in World War II and the Korean War.
Annie Glenn lives in Ohio and is 98.

The home was custom built for the couple in 1990, says WTOP. The price was reduced in April from $1.65 million to $1.575 million. According to its listing, the home overlooks the 11th hole of Avenel TPC golf course and Rock Run Park; it features five bedroom suites with a main level owner's suite.
Belongings from John Glenn's career as an astronaut and a senator went on sale at the house in March 2018. The offerings included mementos of Glenn’s career with NASA, the Senate and the Marine Corps ranging from jewelry to Tiffany crystal to mission clothing to a Mickey Mouse pin with Swarovski crystals, WTOP says.
