Baked Bear Gives Away Free Ice Cream Sandwiches At Grand Opening
California ice cream sandwich chain The Baked Bear will open its first East Coast location at Pike & Rose in North Bethesda May 19.
NORTH BETHESDA, MD — California ice cream sandwich chain The Baked Bear will open its first East Coast location at Pike & Rose in North Bethesda later this month.
The store will open at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at 929 Rose Ave. The first 300 people in line will receive a free ice cream sandwich, plus: the first 20 people in line will get a free t-shirt and the first 100 people will be entered to win 50 free pre-made sandwiches for a party or event.
The Baked Bear's ice cream cookies are original recipes, baked fresh from scratch every day. Guests can chose their ice cream flavor, packed between cookies, donuts or brownies.

Ice cream flavors include classics like vanilla, mint chip and cookie dough, plus salted caramel fudge, birthday cake, strawberry cheesecake and more.
Cookie choices include chocolate chip, funfetti cake, snickerdoodle, red velvet and more. The Cookie of the Month in May is Mexican Hot Chocolate, the business told Patch.

The chain was started in San Diego by childhood friends Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger. It now has about 20 locations in California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and more.
