Bethesda Bank Evacuated After Gas Leak
MoCo firefighters detect carbon monoxide at an EagleBank branch, close streets in the area.

BETHESDA, MD — Firefighters on Monday morning evacuated a Bethesda bank after detecting carbon monoxide in the building, according to a fire spokesman. At about 10 a.m., the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service closed streets around the EagleBank branch at 7815 Woodmont Ave. after responding to reports of an electrical odor and possible carbon monoxide inside the building, said Pete Piringer, a county fire spokesman.
Firefighters shut off gas to the building, ventilated it and investigated the building's HVAC system, Piringer tweeted. A hazardous materials team also assessed the situation.
No injuries were reported, but paramedics evaluated several of the building's occupants as a precaution.
