Bethesda Painting Awards: Here's When, How To Submit Artwork

Local artists can submit their work to the 16th annual Bethesda Painting Awards until Friday, Feb. 21, 2020.

BETHESDA, MD — Local artists are invited to submit their work to the 16th annual Bethesda Painting Awards.

Hosted by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, the juried art competition awards $14,000 in prizes to four selected winners; and up to eight finalists will be selected to display their work at Bethesda's Gallery B in June 2020.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Feb. 21, 2020.

Artists can apply online or download an application at http://www.bethesda.org/bethesda/bethesda-painting-awards.

Artists must be 18 years or older and residents of Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

All 2-D original paintings — be it oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media — are accepted, but cannot exceed 60 inches in width or 84 inches in height. Artwork must have been completed within the last two years.
