The new location is owned by local entrepreneurs Joe and Maryam Rouhafzai and is operated by general manager Nelson Greene III. Joe came out of retirement to look for a new business opportunity, which is when his sons, Jonathan and Andrew, introduced him to Dogtopia. He loved the brand and knew it would not only be a good fit for the Bethesda community, but also provide a family legacy to pass down to his sons. Both Joe and Nelson have over 30 years of restaurant and small business experience, and Nelson worked the pet industry previously.
