First Lady Melania Trump surprised injured service members and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Tuesday.

BETHESDA, MD — First Lady Melania Trump surprised injured service members and their families at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda Tuesday morning.
Stephanie Grisham, the Director of Communications for the first lady, tweeted that Melania Trump made an "unannounced visit to combat injured service members and their families."
The White House did not publicly announce the visit until after she arrived at about 10:30 a.m.

"This administration will never stop supporting our men and women in uniform and the families who love them," Grisham tweeted.
Walter Reed is one of the country's largest and most renowned joint military medical centers.

The first lady stayed at the center for five days following a kidney procedure in May.
More details about the first lady's visit were not immediately available.
