BETHESDA, MD — Former Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler announced Tuesday that he would run for governor in 2022.

Gansler, who ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor in 2014, is the fifth Democrat to seek his party's nomination.

Gansler was Maryland's attorney general from 2007 to 2015. Before that, he served two terms as Montgomery County's state's attorney.
