Hot Property: 'Treetops Greenhouse' Sold for $6.5 Million in Bethesda
The sale of 'Treetops Greenhouse,' a contemporary home on Glenbrook Road in Bethesda for $6.5 million, has real estate circles buzzing.
BETHESDA, MD — Real estate circles are buzzing about the recent sale of a contemporary Bethesda home known as "Treetops Greenhouse" at 7118 Glenbrook Road. The eight-bed, five-bath house was put on the market in April and was sold for $6.5 million in August, according to Zillow.
Trees wrap around the house and give it an exotic, tropical feel. The house has a middle section mostly made of glass, and a pair of two-story wings that frame it. These transparent passages, four roof decks and floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning views of the 35,000-square-foot manicured yard.

Other highlights include the angled ceilings on the main level, the beautiful gourmet kitchen and the unique flooring throughout the home that combines American black cherry wood parquet with Norwegian mountain mist stone. The master suite occupies an entire wing and there are numerous private terraces and decks to provide total relaxation.

The house was designed by David Jameson, who was recognized by Architectural Digest as one of the top-100 architects in the world, according to Zillow.
“The most gorgeous time is when it’s raining at night and you come out here,” the original owner, Carl Alving, told Bethesda Magazine in 2012. “It’s like being in the canopy of a rain forest.”
