BETHESDA, MD — Everything Mom has done over the past year of the coronavirus pandemic should add up to an extra-special 2021 Mother's Day celebration on Sunday, May 9. To start the day off right, how about taking Mom to her favorite Bethesda area brunch spot?

Many restaurants and eateries are still limiting seating, so making a reservation early is especially important this year. And if you're still undecided about going to a sit-down restaurant, curbside pickup or delivery is an option in many places.

Summer House Santa Monica

• Description: Toast to Mom under the sunshine at Summer House in Pike & Rose! On Sunday, May 9, stop by brunch from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., or for dinner until 9 p.m. Special for Mother's Day weekend is an Asparagus & Goat Cheese Omelet and Caramelized George's Bank Scallops with pearl couscous "risotto," asparagus and gremolata.

The Capital Grille, located in Chevy Chase, is offering to-go service that includes a three-course dinner featuring roasted beef tenderloin with a choice of butter-poached North Atlantic lobster tails or scampi-style jumbo shrimp, served with green beans, mashed potatoes, a baked flourless chocolate espresso cake, and lemon tea cookies.
