MARYLAND — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for 10 Maryland counties ahead of a mid-week storm, saying that more than 8 inches of snow could fall in parts of the state.
The watch is from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 4 a.m. Thursday for all or parts of Allegany, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Washington counties. The heaviest snow, forecasters say, will most likely start Wednesday late afternoon and continue through the evening.
Travel may be very difficult. According to the National Weather Service, pedestrians should watch their step outside on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways — and drivers should slow down and plan for slippery road conditions.
