Meet Your New Editor: Colleen Martin Joins Maryland Patch Team
Get to know Montgomery County Patch Editor Colleen Martin and tell me what your community needs to know!

ROCKVILLE, MD — Hello, Montgomery County! My name is Colleen Martin, and I'll be serving as your new field editor. I'm new to you but not to Patch — I was an intern with Patch in Massachusetts last summer and this spring before joining the team full time down here.
A bit about me: I graduated from Boston College this May, where I served as a copy editor, metro editor, and editor-in-chief of the independent student newspaper, The Heights. I've interned at Patch, FRONTLINE PBS and Anton Media Group, a collection of local papers on Long Island (where I'm from). I've always been interested in local reporting, so I'm excited that my first job out of college is with Patch.
I moved to D.C. last week and am quickly learning about things to do, where to eat, and what to see in the area. On my days off you can find me looking for the nearest beach (I'll happily accept any recommendations) or walking around to get to know the neighborhood.
