MLK Jr. Day 2021 In Bethesda: What's Open, Closed
Here's your guide to what's open and closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the Bethesda area.

BETHESDA, MD — On Monday, Jan. 18, America will celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Here's how it shakes out for Bethesda residents.
- County offices – Closed.
- Libraries - Closed.
- Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) - Stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Recreation – Aquatics programs and facilities open; all other classes and programs canceled. Administrative offices, senior centers, and community centers are closed.
- Montgomery Parks – Visit www.MontgomeryParks.org.
- Ride On –Modified holiday schedule. Route information available at https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/SpecialHoliday.html.
- Ride On Flex – No service on holidays.
- Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com and here.
- TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed.
- County-provided refuse/recycling pickup - County-provided trash and recycling collection will not be collected Monday, Jan. 20. After the holiday, county-provided recycling and trash collections will slide one day, with the last collection on Saturday, Jan.25.
- Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station - Facility closed.
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters - Free.
- State offices and courts – Closed.
