Montgomery Co. Reports 115 New COVID-19 Cases, 4 More Deaths
Wednesday's additions push the total number of confirmed cases and deaths in Montgomery County to 66,704 and 1,426, respectively.
BETHESDA, MD — Montgomery County registered 115 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, as well as four more deaths associated with the virus.
The latest additions push the total number of confirmed cases and deaths in the county to 66,704 and 1,426, respectively.
The official fatality count does not include the 46 others whose deaths were linked to the virus but never confirmed by a lab test. For now, they are considered "probable deaths."

Montgomery County — which is home to roughly 1 million people — continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second-highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 78,011, according to the latest figures.
Across Maryland, there have been 411,344 cases, 8,101 confirmed deaths, and 185 "probable deaths." Of the 1,030 people currently being hospitalized statewide, 244 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

As of Wednesday, Maryland has administered 2,689,924 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Among those, 1,720,473 were first doses and 897,129 were second doses.
In Montgomery County, 333,017 residents (31.7 percent) have received their first dose. A total of 179,340 residents (17.1 percent) have already gotten their second and final shot.
