Montgomery County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Montgomery County is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. Montgomery County Public Schools have released the 2017-2018 calendar for the school district.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences. As always, the last day of school can change if weather cancelations add up during the year.

September

• 10/6: Early Release for Students

November

• 11/9: Early Release for Students, End of First Marking Period

• 11/22: Early Release for Students, Report Card Distribution
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/25: Early Release for Students, End of Second Marking Period
• 1/26: No School for Students (Professional Day for Teachers)

February

• 2/5: Report Card Distribution
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/2: Early Release for Students
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/2: No School (Holiday)
• 4/9: Early Release for Students, End of Third Marking Period
• 4/19: Report Card Distribution

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/12: Last Day of School for Students, Early Release
