Presidents' Day 2020: What's Open, Closed In Bethesda Area
Presidents' Day is on Feb. 17, and many of us are looking forward to a three-day weekend. Here is what is open and closed in Bethesda.

BETHESDA, MD — Presidents' Day, a federal holiday observed on the third Monday of February, falls on the 17th this year. Most government offices, courts, and banks will be closed, and most services will operate on a holiday schedule.
Here's how it shakes out for Montgomery County residents:
- County Offices – Closed
- Libraries – Closed
- Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) – Stores are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Recreation – Aquatics programs and facilities are open. Recreation centers, senior centers and administrative offices are closed.
- Montgomery Parks - Visit www.MontgomeryParks.org
- Ride On – Will run a modified holiday schedule. Visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/DOT-Transit/SpecialHoliday.html for more information
- Ride On Flex – No service
- Metrorail and Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com
- TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – Closed
- County-Provided Refuse/Recycling Pickup – County-provided trash and recycling collection will slide one day, with the last collection Saturday, Feb. 22
- Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – Open during normal hours
- Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – Free
- State offices and courts – Closed
